Betty Mae Trapp, age 96 of White Cloud, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at the Fountain View Retirement Village in Fremont. Betty was born on May 23, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio to Joe Hoogerhyde and Helen Kienstra and later met and married Donald Paul Trapp on October 31, 1945 in Grand Rapids. Betty moved to the White Cloud area in 1949 from Grand Rapids and has been a longtime resident. Betty had been a homemaker and enjoyed being a mother to her 7 children and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud where she had been active in various areas of the church for many years in her younger years. Betty enjoyed sewing, knitting but truly treasured the time she spent with her family and friends. Betty is survived by her children, Judy (Lon) Rauch of White Cloud; Donna (Joe) Kukal of White Cloud; Terry Trapp of White Cloud; Julius (Wanda) Trapp of White Cloud; Chuck (Linda) Trapp of White Cloud; Linda DeLong (Matt Birdsall) of White Cloud; Maryann (Tom) Huss of Fremont; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 23 great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Donald P. Trapp on August 26, 2007 and her daughter-in-law Janice Trapp and her great granddaughter, Josie Rauch.
