Pastor Billy A. Hill Sr., age 84, of White Cloud went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, December 4, 2019. He was born at home the home of his maternal grandparents near Maple Rapids, Michigan, on November 18, 1935, the son of Clyde Morton Hill and Audrey Larue (Coakley) Hill. He moved to Laingsburg , Michigan, with his family in 1952, where he graduated from Laingsburg High School, and met and married Jacqueline Ester Reed on April 14, 1955. He enlisted in the United States Army, and served in Germany with special intelligence forces. He returned to the United States and enrolled in Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music, graduating from there in 1961 as a minister of the Gospel. He first pastored the Aetna Calvary Church, west of White Cloud, for many years before moving to Duluth, Minnesota, where he pastored the Greysolon Bible Church. He later returned to the White Cloud area, where he built and pastored Country Bible Church. He retired from the ministry and served in the Fremont area as a volunteer driver for several area agencies for over thirty years. he was known for his love of the Lord and family and his willingness to help others. He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Jackie; two brothers, Roy (Barbara) Hill of McMinnville, and Carl (Diana) Hill of Laingsburg; one sister, Nila Marshall, of Ovid; children, Cathy (David) Sjostrom of Iron River, Steve (Brenda) Hill of Laingsburg, Jonathan (Sherry) Hill, also of Laingsburg, David Hill of Fort Wayne, Billy Hill Jr., of Holton. He had 14 grandchildren, Jane Kristina, Beth, Susie, Chad, Jordan, Daniel, Justin, Denise, David, Jackie, Cynthia, Felicia and Maria, and 11 great-grandchildren, Megan, Ally, Tommy, Briana, Talon, Ryan, Joseph, Reagan, Aramis, Zella, Raiden, Thomas, Alice; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Cynthia, and one grandson, Chad. A Memorial Service to Celebrate Billy's Life will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Aetna Calvary Church with Mike King officiating.
