Brian J. Fosnaugh, age 59 of Grant, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at his home. Brian was born on November 30, 1956 in Grant and graduated from Newaygo High School in 1974. Brian married his high school sweetheart, Julie Priest on October 10, 1980 in Fremont. Brian later graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Master's Degree in Special Education. He started his 31 year career in special education at the Freedom Acres School in Ionia teaching students with cognitive impairments. He later moved to the Blossomland Learning Center in Berrien Springs educating students with severe cognitive impairments, and eventually finished his career at White Cloud Public Schools in the high school resource room until his retirement in 2011. Brian was a member of the Grant Community Church; had been a coach in Grant and White Cloud for multiple sports; enjoyed the outdoors – boating, fishing, hunting and basking in the sunshine. He had been an advocate and longtime supporter of Special Olympics. Brian loved to spend time with his fun loving grandchildren.

Brian is survived by his loving wife of nearly 36 years, Julie; his children, Abrianne (Ricardo) Castaneda of Rockford; Jesse (Sunny) Fosnaugh of Branson, Missouri; his grandchildren, Asa Castaneda; Clara Castaneda; Kinley Fosnaugh; Kasten Fosnaugh; his mother-in-law, Mary (Jake) Osborn; father-in-law, Don (Onie) Priest; 1 step-brother; 3 step sisters; several brothers and sisters-in-laws, his aunt, Genny Cooper of Newaygo; several nieces, nephews. Brian was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Louise Sherwood in 2015; his father, Bill Fosnaugh; his step father, Bob Sherwood; and his brother, Brett Fosnaugh in 1969.

VISITATION : Friday, August 12, 2016 from 5-7pm at the Grant Community Church (115 W State Road Grant MI 49327) and on Sunday, from 3pm until the time of the services at 4pm. MEMORIAL SERVICES : Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 4pm at the Grant Community Church. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Special Olympics Area #21.
