Bruce S. Bernick, age 52 of White Cloud, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at his home with his family by his side. Bruce was born on August 15, 1956, in Chicago, to Albert Victor and Valerie (Mitrius) Bernick and married Deborah Eichhorn on November 8, 1980, in Bridgeview, Illinois. Bruce was a building engineer in Chicago and worked at the Chicago Tribune prior to moving to White Cloud. He was active volunteer at the Newaygo County Commission On Aging and loved to raise birds. He is survived by his wife, Deborah; children, Matthew (Tonya) Bernick, Melissa (Kenneth) Saville, and Morgan Bernick; grandchildren, Valerie and Vincent Saville; mother, Valerie Bernick of White Cloud; sisters, Gayle Conlan of Indiana and Darlene Flanagen of Illinois; brother Rand Bernick of South Carolina; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Victor and sister Karin Crick. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at 2 pm from the Crandell Funeral Home in White Cloud with Pastor Doug Bennett presiding. There was a time of visitation to meet with the family 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
