Bruce F. Bowers, age 81 of Grant, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the Metron Nursing Center in Big Rapids. Bruce was born on July 28, 1934 in Grand Rapids to Fred and Daisy (Alexander) Bowers and graduated from Kelloggsville High School in 1953. Bruce had been a painter in the building trades for many years until his retirement. Bruce married Myrtle Rose Gildner on July 26, 1968 and she preceded him in death on December 21, 2014. Bruce was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the United States Army. Bruce was a member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades, had been a Boy Scout Leader, enjoyed listening to southern gospel music and was a very generous man to many. Bruce grew up in the Jewish faith and later became a born again Christian which he felt very strongly about and was never afraid to share his faith with others. Bruce was an active member of the Church of God Ministry Center in White Cloud. Bruce is survived by a special step daughter, Patricia (Duane) Sadlick of Pierson; special friends, Jan and Sheryl; his church family and his many friends his visited with on a daily basis at Sallys Restaurant and North Star Caf. MEMORIAL SERVICES : Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 4pm at the Church of God Ministry Center ( 1621 S Evergreen White Cloud MI 49349) with Bishop Jim Fader presiding.
