Obituary

Pastor Buddy F. Rowe I, age 73 of Croton, passed away Friday, September 5,2014 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus following a short illness. Buddy was born on June 21, 1941 in Trumann, Arkansas to Major and Geneva (Brashers) Rowe and later married Evelyn Tinkey in February 1957 in Kalamazoo. Buddy had owned and operated his own siding and roofing company for many years and in 2011 Buddy and Evelyn started the Croton Church of Christ on Croton Hardy Drive where he was the pastor. Buddy had enjoyed fishing in his younger years, always enjoyed a good debate with his friends, loved to work in the flower and vegetable garden. Buddys true enjoyment however came from woodworking and activities at the church. Buddy served in the United States Army. Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Evelyn of Croton; his children, David Rowe of Croton; April (Mike) Scheppelman of Denmark, Tennessee; Buddy Rowe II (significant other, Amber DeVroome) of Hopkins; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 1 sister and 2 brothers. Buddy was preceded in death by his daughter, Camelia. GRAVESIDE SERVICES : Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 2pm at the Croton Township Cemetery on Croton Hardy Drive with a TIME OF VISITATION at the cemetery from 1:30pm until the time of the services. Military rites will be given by the Newaygo V.F.W. Sportsmans Post and the Michigan National Guard Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
