Obituary

Carl Dean Anderson Sr., age 56 of White Cloud passed away Thursday, January 25, 2001 at his home. He was born on January 23, 1945 in Greenfield, Texas to Robert and Vivian (Pitts) Anderson and married Verelene Copeland on January 17, 1965 in White Cloud. He had been a barber at Curtis Barber Shop in Phoenix, Arizona for 12 years and then moved to White Cloud and started working at the Gerber Products Company in Fremont for the past 16 years where he was a forklift driver. He had been active in the Union and a member of the Barbers Association. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict where he served in the United States Army and was a member of the Peoples Baptist Church in White Cloud. He is survived by his wife, Verelene of White Cloud; his son, Carl (Lisa) Anderson Jr. of Tacoma, Washington; three daughters, RayElla (Dwight) Warren of White Cloud; Ruby (Yorel) McDowell of White Cloud; Verelene Chkwna Anderson of White Cloud; five granddaughters, Shimian, Patrice & DMonet Warren all of White Cloud; Sarah & Carla-Ray Anderson of Tacoma, Washington; four grandsons, Deion Warren, Emag &William McDowell all of White Cloud; Caleb Dean Anderson of Tacoma, Washington; his best friend, Cliff Brown; special nephew, Freddie (Cami) Edwards; special nieces, Vivian Smith and Diane White; brothers, William C. Roberson of Phoenix, AZ; C.J. Anderson of Showlo, AZ; Benjamin Anderson of Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Dorothy Washington of Phoenix, AZ; Ladonia Mae Smith of Fresno, CA; sister-in-laws, Deborah (Elder James) Yates & Rena Susan Lister both of Phoenix, AZ; brother-in-laws, Raymond (Mary) Copeland of Killeen, TX & Victor (Debbie) Copeland of Upland, CA; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. His parents, Robert and Vivian (Pitts) Anderson and one grandson, Dwight LaDell Warren II, preceded him in death. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 30, 2001 at the Peoples Baptist Church in White Cloud with Rev. Jeffrey Murchison presiding with military rites given by the Newaygo V.F.W.
