Carl N. Arrasmith, age 78 of Fremont, formerly of Hesperia, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids following a stroke. Carl was born on April 15, 1935 in Ridge Farm, Illinois to Paul and Mildred Arrasmith and later moved to Hesperia in 1962 and then to Fremont in 1993. Carl married Sandy Conley on September 11, 1993 in Fremont. Carl had worked at the Hesperia DPW for 21 years until his retirement in 1997 and had also served on the Hesperia Fire Department for 21 years. Carl enjoyed tinkering with small engines and helping people. He could fix anything and was always willing to lend a hand. Carl truly treasured the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. Carl is survived by his wife, Sandy of Fremont; his children, Jay (Betty) Arrasmith of Alvin, Texas; Kittie (Larry) Yount of Pearland, Texas; Paula Culp of Fremont; step children, Carla Conley of Fremont; Shannon Conley of Fremont; Jim (Myra) Conley of Hesperia; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; his sister, Rena Saye of Gobles, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his son, Carl A. Arrasmith on March 27, 2009. MEMORIAL SERVICES : Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 2pm with time of visitation from 12:30-2pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. INTERMENT : Clark Cemetery.
