Carl Ray Ball, age 48 of Newaygo, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, November 18, 2022 at the Corewell – Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids following a stroke. Carl was born on June 27, 1974 in Fremont to Ronald Dale and Shirley (Aishe) Ball Sr. and graduated from Newaygo High School in 1992. Carl has been a lifelong resident of the Newaygo area where he had been a tree trimmer and mechanic. Carl married Becky Jones on September 10, 2022 in Newaygo. Carl enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and fishing in his younger days. Carl was an outstanding cook and enjoyed gathering with his family together and cooking for the gatherings. Carl is survived by his wife, Becky of Newaygo; his children, Merissa Pixley of Grand Rapids; Misty Badger of Wayland; Brianna Wightman of White Cloud; Monica Jesse (Gorenflo) Wightman of White Cloud; Megan Wightman of White Cloud; 4 grandchildren; mother, Shirley Wrady of Newaygo; his sisters and brothers, Jeannie Sage of Grant; Rhonda (Darrel) Arney of Newaygo; Sherry (Dale) Bulk of Barryton; Ronald Dale (Isabelle) Ball Jr. of Newaygo; Fred (Paula Folkema) Ball of Newaygo several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews; father-in-law, Leonard & Rosemary Jones of White Cloud. Carl was preceded in death by his father, Dale Ball Sr. in 2011 and by a sister-in-law, Sandra Jones in 2022. A Memorial Gathering will be held at a date, time and location to be determined and will be announced on this webpage. Interment will take place at the Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery in White Cloud with his father. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Newaygo County Veterans Affairs Office to assist Newaygo County Veterans in memory of Carl.
