Carl A. Grabill, age 67 of Newaygo, passed away Tuesday at his home following long illness. Carl was born on Sept. 22, 1935 in Kent City fo Ansel and Leona (Nelson) Grabill and married Arlene Rasey his wife, of 47 years on Feb. 10, 1956 in Fremont . Carl was a self-empllyed contractor and has lived in the Newaygo area for the past 46 years. He was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church and member of the Loyal Order of Moose #1555. He enjoyed bowling, building, meeting people, spending time with his many friends, his numerous trips to the Upper Peninsula where he worked as a volunteer at the Bay Cliff Health Camp for handicapped children. He is survived his wife, Arlene and two sons, Terry (Deborah) Grabill of Newaygo; Michael (Shirley) Grabill of Kentwood; five wonderful grandchildren, Trevor, Kelsey, Caitlin, Dustin, and Jacob; one brother, Wayne (Carrol) Grabill of Wyoming; three sisters, Wilma Luchies of Fremont; Phyllis Hoffman of Fremont; Lois Carmichael of Kokomo, IN; 3 sister-in-laws, Betty Grabill of Wyoming; Ruth Fish of Pentwater; Shirley Wilson of Fremont along with several special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Marvin, Ivan and Robert. A time of celebrating Carls life with family and friends was held on Sunday, March 17, 2003 from 7-9 p.m. at the Fremont United Methodist Church with memorial services being held on Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the Fremont United Methodist Church .
