Carl D. Hull, age 87 of Fremont, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, June 14, 2021 at the Newaygo County Compassion Home in Fremont following a short illness. Carl was born on September 23, 1933 in Big Rapids to Ezra and Olive (Smith) Hull and later married Laura D. Simons on June 25, 1955 in Fremont. Carl had been a Journeyman Lineman for IBEW Local #876 and Local #17 for 48 years until his retirement and had installed power lines in many of the continental United States as well as Saudi Arabia. Carl was a member of Inspire Church in Fremont, was a member of the Farm Bureau and The Gideons. Carl and Laura loved to travel - taking several cruises, bus trips to many states and countries. He loved anything John Deere and collected John Deere toy tractors, enjoyed woodworking and truly treasured the time he spent with his family. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Laura of Fremont; his children, Rhonda (Rob) Dawe of Fremont; Tim Hull of Fremont; Pam (Steve) Smith of Fremont; Lori (Jerry) Olson of Fremont; Jami (James) Visger of Clarksville, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Eugene Hull; Gordon (Barb) Hull; Floyd (Barb) Hull. Carl was preceded in death by his sister, Velma Hull, brothers, Bob Hull and Jim Hull; son-in-law, Brent Scanlon; daughter-in-law, Karen Hull.
