Obituary

Carol Terese Brennan Clouse died peacefully on September 18, 2018 in her husband's arms. Carol was born on March 14, 1948 in Grand Rapids to Marguerite and James Brennan and raised on a farm in Alpine Township. She met her high school sweetheart, Robert Clouse, in chemistry class at West Catholic and they were married in 1970. After putting Bob through medical school she moved to Newaygo where she began a life of service to her family and the community. She sang in the choir at the All Saints Catholic Church for many years for Mass services, weddings and funerals. She was a member of the singing group, Mid Life Harmony. Carol had a loving, gracious personality and a warm smile which she freely shared. In August 2012 she was diagnosed with a rare form of neuroendocrine lung cancer, (carcinoid), which had already spread extensively through her body. When her doctor gave her the prognosis, (10 months) she smiled widely and said, "I'm going to see Jesus". With the help of her physicians, nurses, and the prayers of hundreds of friends, she was able to postpone that meeting for six years. She is survived by her husband, Bob; children and grandchildren, Mike (Casey) Lynch – Kathryn, Madeline, Luke, Carmen and Aiden of Weidman, MI; Angela (Josh) Johnson – Shelby, Sophia, Brennan of Grand Rapids; Dave (Jen) Clouse – Quinn and Alexander of Houston, TX; Lisa (Joe) McDaniel – Yodit, Trevor, Genevieve and Alexandria of Phoenix, AZ; Matt (Carly) Clouse – Brady, Brynley Breslyn, Brycen of Grand Rapids. She is also mourned by her siblings, Jerry (Dianne) Brennan; Ken (Pat) Brennan; Dan (Deb) Brennan; Richard (Sherry) Brennan (dec); Tom (Jan) Brennan; Jane (Don Rosie) Brennan. Also by her in-laws, Mary (Dave) Malicki; Mike (Cindy) Clouse; Gayle Barkey; Linda (Wes) Ruwersma; Cindy (Neil) Kimball; Diane (Ray) Weaver; James Clouse (dec); also 45 nieces and nephews.
