Sherman, Carol J. Carol June Sherman, age 81 of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at her home. Carol was born on July 2, 1923 in Evanston, Illinois to Ernest and Ellen (Swanson) Larson and later graduated from Fremont High School. She married Gerald Sherman on April 19, 1946 in Fremont and has been resident of Fremont since 1940. Carol was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for 20 years, was a member and had been active in Farm Bureau in Newaygo County for 40 years and had served as a 4-H Leader in Newaygo County for 21 years. She is survived by her husband, Gerald of Fremont; her children, Susan Ceryl Sherman of Chicago; Janeen Gay (Jeff) Kuhn of Honolulu, Hawaii; Eric Gregory (Kathy) Sherman of Troy, Michigan; 3 grandchildren, Jill, Joel, and Eric; her sister, Betty Goldbeck of Scottsdale, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Howard and Roger Larson. Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 4, 2004 from the Fremont United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Wood of the Fremont United Methodist Church presiding with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
