Carol Jean Lord, age 75 of White Cloud, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at her home following a decline in her health. Carol was born on July 15, 1947 in Muskegon to James Joseph and Jeanette (Piazza) Kukal and graduated from White Cloud High School in 1966. Carol married Keith Shick and later married Joseph Lord Sr. and both have preceded her in death. Carol has been a lifelong resident of the White Cloud area where she had worked at Van's Video for 16 years and later at Sally's Restaurant for 17 years until her retirement in 2020. Carol was known to many as the "Hug Bug" at Sally's. Carol loved to meet people, cut grass at her home, working in her flower garden and flower arranging. Carol was a beautiful, loving, caring and giving spitfire of a woman and had a self-sacrificing servant's heart in everything she did throughout her life. She was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church in White Cloud. Carol is survived by her children, Pastor JR (Sarah) Shick of White Cloud; Paula J. (Oscar) Carlson of Grant; her grandchildren, Kasey Carlson, Conner Carlson, Kashya Shick and Keith Shick III; her brothers and sister, Joseph (Donna) Kukal of White Cloud; Antoinette "Tony" (Jim) Scheffler of Chicago; Manny (Dig) Kukal of Phoenix, Arizona; many nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Ann Kroll. VISITATION : Sunday, August 21, 2022 from 2pm – 4pm at the Seventh Day Baptist Church 984 E. Wilcox White Cloud, MI 49349 with CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICES at 4pm at the Seventh Day Baptist Church in White Cloud with Pastor Jeff Murchison of the Glory of Latter House Ministries presiding. INTERMENT : St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
