Carol Jean Maat, age 51 of Fremont, passed away Friday, November 2, 2001 at her home. She was born on October 14, 1950 in Fremont to John M. and Joyce (Carolyn) Wheat and had been a production worker in manufacturing. She graduated from Fremont High School and later from Muskegon Community College. She is survived by her parents, John and Joyce Maat of Fremont; brothers, Larry (Jan) Maat and Jamie of Sterling Heights; Randy (Donna) Maat and Heather, Shawn, Miranda of Fremont; Jeff (Dawn Burns) Maat of Fremont; several aunts & uncles and great aunts and uncles. Funeral services were held on Monday, November 5, 2001 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. David Wheat and Rev. Alllen Petroelje presiding with interment in Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.
