Sandin, Carol Jean Carol Jean Sandin, age 73 of Hesperia, passed away Friday, June 15, 2007 at her home in Hesperia. Carol was born on July 26, 1933 in Fremont, Michigan to Harry and Daisy Austin and has been a longtime resident of the area. Carol had been a hairdresser, nurses aid and had worked for Clark Flooring for several years. Carol was a loving mother and grandmother and had most recently been a caregiver to Charles Miller. Carol also enjoyed shopping on QVC. She is survived by her children, Barbara Drent of Muskegon; Nancy (Jeffery) Dunham of Mesa, Arizona; Thomas (Marsha) Sandin of Crown Point, Indiana; Kimberly Sandin of Gwinn, Michigan; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; her sister, Patricia Nelson of Muskegon; her former husbands, Charles Miller of Hesperia and Donald Sandin of Mesa, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Jean Woods on December 22, 2001. Memorial services were held in the Upper Peninsula following cremation. I knew Carol 50 years ago when we were both young. She was married to Don at the time and she was my first hairdresser. When she quit working professionally she did my hair in her home. She did it for my wedding. We were more friends than just hairdresser and client. She came to my wedding and we always spent time together after. She named her daughter Nancy because she liked my name. I always felt honored for that. In later years whenever we met it was like we never had been apart.
