Carol Joy Weaver left her loved ones here on earth to go join her special love, Dave Gomez in heaven, back together again enjoying the special activities they shared together for 17 years. Carol passed peacefully on Friday, February 10, 2023 at the Newaygo County Compassion Home following a very recent fall. Carol was born on February 16, 1936 in Muskegon and enjoyed raising her family in Muskegon until she later moved to the Hesperia area. Carol spent many days with Dave, traveling to nursing homes and venues sharing music and tributes to veterans and you would not often see Carol without Dave or vice versa. She was a member of the Hesperia American Legion Auxiliary and was instrumental in the planning and coordination of the Children's Christmas Party at the Hesperia American Legion. Carol enjoyed flower gardening in her yard, listening and dancing to music, always enjoyed having matching clothes and jewelry and was known to her grandchildren as "great grandma no" Carol is survived by her children, Maryann (Ed) Skok of Hesperia; Ben (Deb) Middlecamp of Muskegon; her grandchildren and great grandchildren – Jon (Nikki) Skok and their children, Kaitlyn and Jonathon; Jason Skok and his son, Jaxon; Ben "little Ben" Middlecamp; Kelly (Mike) Murphy and their daughter, Ariel; her sister, Judi (Roger) Kern of Muskegon; one niece and many nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her loving and long time partner, Dave Gomez on July 13, 2022; by her parents, Norm and Joyce Klunder; her brothers, Norm Klunder and Jack Klunder.
