Carolyne Key, age 82 of White Cloud, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016 at her home following a short illness. Carolyne was born on February 3, 1934 in Perrington, Michigan to Olen C. and Herma (Keifer) Smith and later married Virgil Key Jr. on May 2, 1958 in Hubbardston, Michigan. Virgil preceded her in death on February 8, 1998. Carolyne had worked at the Hekman Furniture Company in Grand Rapids for 34 years as a woodworker until her retirement. In 1980, Carolyne and Virgil moved to the White Cloud area where she enjoyed gardening, crafts, cooking, crocheting and woodworking. Carolyne is survived by her daughter, Debra (Charles) Rose of Belmont; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Shawn (Darunee Chambers) Rose and his children, Paige and Paityn of Pierson, Michigan; Amanda (Brad) Hutton and her children, Gavin and Zoe of Sand Lake; her sister-in-law, Pauline Smith of Lansing; several nieces and nephews. Carolyne was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Shelest and brothers, Mervin and Wayne Smith. VISITATION : Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 10-12pm at Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel (1109 Court Street White Cloud, MI) with FUNERAL SERVICES at 12pm at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel. INTERMENT : Rest Haven Memory Gardens in Belding. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : American Cancer Society.
