Rottier, Catherine G. Catherine G. Rottier, age 81 of Fremont passed away Sunday, August 08, 2004 at her home. Catherine was born on May 5, 1923 in Fremont to John M. and Leah Belle (McCarty) Rottier. She had been a registered nurse for many years and began her nursing career at St. Marys of Mercy Hospital in Grand Rapids until she enlisted in the United States Army where she served as a 1st. lieutenant until her discharge in 1946. She then received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Catholic University of Washington, D.C. and her MBA at Columbia University, New York City. She served as an instructor of nursing at Georgetown University, Washington, D.C; Queen of Angeles, Los Angeles University of San Diego, California; and University of San Francisco, California. Catherine enjoyed traveling throughout the world and had been an avid golfer. She had a strong devotion to her Catholic faith and her favorite school was St. Thomas Aquinas College, Santa Paula, California. She is survived by her sister-in-law, LaVinna Rottier of Fremont; her nieces, Peggy Reeves of Ann Arbor; Catherine (James) Carpenter of Grand Rapids; her nephews, Richard D. (Mary Ellen) Reeves of Belding; Louis Rottier and friend, Lisa Berens of Fremont; Gary (Doreen) Rottier of Fremont; Paul D. (Svetlana) Rottier of Fremont; several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John M. Rottier; Cornelius Rottier; her sister, Margaret H. Reeves; her niece, Donna Louise Reeves; her nephew, John Kurt Rottier. Funeral services were held on Friday, August 20, 2004 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Brunswick with Rev. Father Richard VanLente presiding with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
