Chad Joseph Deephouse, age 56 of Grand Rapids, formerly of Fremont, passed away following a short decline in his health on Friday, November 3, 2023. Chad was born on March 5, 1967 in Fremont to Jess N. and Donna Mae (St. John) Deephouse. Chad graduated from Fremont High School in 1984 and graduated from Washington, DC Culinary Arts School. Chad moved to Hawaii where he worked as a chef and later moved back to the Fremont area where he designed the kitchen at the Hightower Inn and then started working at Noto's Old World Dining in Grand Rapids where he has worked for the past 16 years. Chad enjoyed cooking, fishing and always maintained his unique sense of humor. Chad is survived by his daughter, Irah; his father, Jess Deephouse of Fremont; his sister, Amy St. John Deephouse; his brother, Mark (Jodi) Deephouse. Chad was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Mae Deephouse on September 21, 2017. Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont with the date and time to be announced.
