Charlene F. Veldheer, age 71 of Hesperia and formerly of Zeeland, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at her home following a short illness. Charlene was born on September 2, 1947 in Grand Rapids to Charles and Mary Ann (Jarmolinski) Chernis and later married Joseph Veldheer on March 14, 1974 in Grand Rapids. Charlene moved to the Hesperia area in 1997 and had been a typesetter and homemaker. Charlene enjoyed her dogs, riding horses, knitting, reading, crafts and woodworking. She attended Heritage Bible Church in Ferry. Charlene is survived by her husband of 44 years, Joseph of Hesperia; cousins, Jennie & Rick Moore; Alice Schultz; Kathleen & Richard DeBelgnan; brother-in-law, Walt Veldheer of Grandville; sisters-in-law, Pauline Sprik of Hudsonville; Norma (Phil) Kuiper of Hudsonville.
