Pillsbury, Charles B. Charles Burdette Pillsbury, age 85 of Fremont, formerly of Ann Arbor, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2004 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. He was born on July 9, 1918 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Dr. Charles Burdette and Rose (Leisheid) Pillsbury and married Mary Marjorie Butler on July 19, 1942 in Ypsilanti. Mary M. preceded him in death on June 21, 1998. He received his Master degree from Eastern Michigan University and was a graduate of University of Michigan and had been a science teacher for many years. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the United States Army Air Corps and received two bronze stars during his tour of duty. He is survived by his daughter, Mary (Dave) Fowler of Hersey, Michigan; his sons, Richard (Wanda) Pillsbury of McBain; Charles (Karen) Pillsbury III of Flint; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; his sisters, Betty Harrison of Okinawa, Japan; his brother, Jack (Nancy) Pillsbury of Ann Arbor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie on June 21, 1998. Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 11, 2004 at the St. Johns Episcopal Church in Fremont with Rev. Duncan Johnston and Rev. Mary Frens-String presiding with interment in the East Hesperia Cemetery. Friends may consider the Fremont Area Community Foundation for the Newaygo Medical Care Facility Alzheimers Unit for memorial contributions.
