Richner, Charles E. Charles E. Richner, age 81 of Newaygo, passed away Monday, October 24, 2005 at the Transitional Health Services following a long battle with alzheimer's and cancer. Charles was born on January 26, 1924 in Houtzdale, Pennsylvania to Alvin and Ethel (Templeton) Richner and worked as a mechanic for many years. He also served in the United States Army during World War II and enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by seven children, Robert (Linda) Richner of Joliet, Illinois; George (Barb) Richner of Plainfield, Illinois; Trevetta (Richard) Cook of Newaygo; Olivia Richner of Grand Rapids; Denise (Jeff) Babcock of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Diane (Mike) Hendricks of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Mark (Gail) Richner of Richmond, Virginia; nine grandchildren, Robert M. Richner; Erin (Brian) Kraulidis; Kevin Richner; Cory Cook; Christina Ledesma; Sarrah (Tim) Hall; Kayla Babcock,; Kendrea Richner; Laura Hendricks; seven great grandchildren, Kelsey, Taylor, Joseph, Allison, Jamie, Arron, Christopher; sister, Mona Kardolly of PA; brother, Alvin (Teresa) Richner of Florida; six step grandchildren; eleven step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Private family services were held at a later time following cremation. Friends may consider the Alzheimers Association, Heartland Hospice or the American Cancer Society for memorial contributions in memory of Charles.
