Obituary

Charlotte Ann (Libey) Dunham, affectionately known to most as "Mama J", "Nonny" or "White Mama," peacefully departed this world at the age of 79 on June 5, 2025, at her home in White Cloud, Michigan, surrounded by the warmth and love of her cherished family and devoted friends. Charlotte was a true force of love, humor, and boundless creativity, and her generous spirit touched the heart of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Charlotte was born on January 1, 1946, in Muskegon, Michigan, to the late Colonel Clark Libey and Mildred (Kurburski) Libey, bringing a New Years joy that would come to define her incredible spirit. A woman whose door was always open and whose coffee pot was perpetually full. Charlotte welcomed anyone and everyone into her home with ease. When you left her home, your belly and your heart were full. All holidays were a big deal for Charlotte, but the most notable would have to be Halloween where she would give candy to over 1,000 kids, but she would also have huge pots of chili, and everyone was welcome to enjoy! Charlotte was proud of her cake decorating and she was honored that she decorated wedding and baby shower cakes for many people in White Cloud and surrounding areas. She also was an avid crocheter and crocheted many baby blankets for new babies of friends and family.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Dunham in 2006; son-in-law, Jim Macomber in 2001; daughter, Lorita Fernanders in 2018; sister, Rose Price in 2008 and brother, Clare Libey in 2022; along with many other friends and family members.

Charlotte is survived by her partner of 20 years, Patrick Decker. She is also survived by her brother, David Ghent; children: daughters, Alecia (Brian) Seabrook, Kelley (Arthur) Sitter, and Michelle Visser; sons, Calvin Jackson, Jr., Roy Holston, Keefer (Maryann) Decker, and David Decker; special friend, Kathy Foster; and her beloved dog, Libby Lou.

Charlotte loved many things including cake decorating, Goodwill shopping, yard sales, football, and dancing, but nothing gave her more joy than her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Grandchildren include Ginny (John) King, Jenny (Mike) Winter, Nathan Macomber, Kaittye (Chuck) Oberski, Jessica (Eko) Schoonmaker, Scott Seabrook, Shelby (David) Vandermate, Hunter (Tiffany) Jackson, Bailey Jackson, Whitney, Hailey (Derrick), and Tony.

Great- grandchildren whom she was over the moon about; Koltyn, Collin, Klaysen, Caenyn, Mayci, Beau, River, Noah, Alicia, Ashley, Austin, Dakota, Shelby, Lilah, Garret, Lilly and Emily; and many many great-great-grandchildren.

She also leaves many other "adopted" grandchildren, sons, daughters, and friends who will miss her.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2025, Crandell Funeral Home, White Cloud Chapel, at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Jeffery Murchison officiating. Burial will follow at a later date.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the service begins.
