VanAgtmael, Christine Margaret Christine Margaret VanAgtmael, age 95 of Fremont, passed away Friday, January 12, 2007 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Christine was born on June 10, 1911 in Chicago, Illinois to Nick and Anna (Stark) Helm and later married Louis VanAgtmael on August 9, 1947 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elbridge, Michigan. Louis preceded her in death on March 29, 2004. Christine has been a longtime resident of the area where she was a member of the St. Michaels Catholic Church in Brunswick. She graduated from Central Michigan Universtiy with a degree in teaching and started teaching at the country schools in the Walkerville area and later at Hesperia Public Schools until her retirement. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and enjoyed gardening at her home and sewing. She is survived by her children, David (Josie) VanAgtmael of Germany; Donald VanAgtmael of Fremont; Theresa (Theodore) Diduch of Grand Rapids; her grandchildren, Michelle, Theodore L. and Mike Diduch. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Helm and by her brothers, Nick Helm and Joe Helm. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial were held on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 from the St. Michaels Catholic Church with Rev. Father Mike Alber presiding with interment in the St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery. Friends are asked to consider St. Michaels Catholic School for memorial contributions.
