Christopher Todd Bouwsma, age 61, of Sand Lake passed away March 6, 2025. Chris was born in Reed City to David E. and Belva M. (Peters) Bouwsma, August 3, 1963.

Chris graduated from Fremont High School and attended Central Michigan University. He is survived by two daughters, Alyssa (Jonathan) Smith and Leeanna Bouwsma-Burgess, six grandchildren, Maverick, Maddison, Mackenna, Faye, Bently and Briar. Additionally, his parents, David E. and Belva M. Bouwsma of Fremont, four sisters, Wendy Bishop, Sherry Claflin, Cathy (Ken) Hart, Diane (Guillermo) Fraga and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, including two grand nieces and a grand nephew.

Chris was known for his skills as an auto mechanic, his classic car, and woodworking abilities. He loved being outdoors and hunting morel mushrooms in the spring.

A celebration of life will be held at Sherman Township Hall on Thursday, March 20, at 2:00 pm. Friends may also send a condolence or share a memory with the family at www.crandellfh.com. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to be made to Crandell Funeral Home for final arrangements.
