Clarence "Slim" Edward Knox, age 86, of Fremont went home to be with his Savior on Friday, March 12, 2021. Slim was born on January 10, 1935, in Morley to Glenn Edward and Katherine M. (Rote) Knox and married Joan Adele Warner on June 9, 1956, at the Dayton Center Wesleyan Church. Slim worked at Gerber Products as a hi-lo driver for many years retiring in 1994. He loved playing music and sharing the word and was a member of the Faith Gospel Team for 55 years. Slim enjoyed hunting, horses, and farming his property. He cherished time with his family and friends and was a member of the Fremont Nazarene Church.
Clarence is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joan; children, Faron Edward Knox of White Cloud, Terri Joan Vallejo of Grant, and Cammy Renee (Jonathon) Newton of Newaygo; grandchildren, Marla (Brian) Knox, Glenn (Shannon) Knox, Mandy (Bob) Knox, Nathan (Kayla) Knox, Daniel Vallejo, Stephen Vallejo, Carly Vallejo, Chad (Ericka) Newton, Alicia (Randy) Gee, and Lanette (Steve) Bouchard; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Gregory, Austin, Tyler, Dylan, Mason, Alyssa, Isaiah, Elijah, Ella, Elexa, Clara, Cloey, Seraiah, Micah, Brody, and Madison; sister Elaine Thompson of Alma; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends. Slim was preceded by his sisters, Ruth Ann Deal and Amy Knox; infant sister, Patricia; and great-grandson, Addison Michael Newton.
Services will be held at 4 PM on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at the Fremont Nazarene Church with Pastor Ron VanSyckle officiating. There will be visitation at the Church prior to the services from 2 – 4PM. To honor Slim's love of horses and western lifestyle, please feel free to wear your cowboy boots, jeans, and western shirts. Friends are asked to consider the Fremont Nazarene Church for a more lasting memorial. Friends may share memories and condolences online with the Knox family at www.crandellfh.com.
Friends may choose to listen to Slim's funeral services via radio broadcasting on their car radios in the Church parking lot on the day of the services by tuning their radios to 99.9 starting 5 minutes prior to the services starting.
