Obituary

Clarence R. Patelski, age 89 of Holton, passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2013 at the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Hospital in Fremont. Clarence was born on December 25, 1923 in Holton to Richard J. and Christine (Truschke) Patelski and later married Dorothy Videtich on May 31, 1952 at the St. Michaels Catholic Church in Brunswick. Clarence had been a welder at Shaw Walker in Muskegon until his retirement and then continued to farm for many years. Clarence was a veteran of World War II where he served in the United States Army and was a member of the Holton American Legion, Post #397 for 43 years. Clarence enjoyed farming, deer hunting, fishing, being in the Michigan outdoors and socializing with his family and friends. Clarence is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy of Holton; his children, Rose Bailey of Fremont; Rich Patelski of Holton; Janet Patelski of Aiken, South Carolina; Joan Stone of Holton; Renee (Jim) Twigg of Fremont; Carol (Ron) Woodland of Holland; Sue (Clay) Orrison of Muskegon; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lillian Dunnaway on May 26, 2009 and his brother, John Patelski on September 3, 2013. VISITATION : Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 from 10-12pm at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 12:00pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. INTERMENT and MILITARY RITES : Oakwood Cemetery in Holton under the auspices of the Holton American Legion, Post #397. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Holton American Legion Post 397 or Devos Childrens Hospital Foundation.
