Clarence W. Williams, age 96 of Hesperia, formerly of Birmingham, Alabama and Pueblo, Colorado, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. Clarence was born on September 1, 1922 in Cheyanne, Wyoming to Clarence Abner and Lena Ivera (McKay) Williams. Clarence joined the United States Navy where he served during World War II and met his future wife at a USO dance in Miami, Florida. Clarence married Doris B. Hood on November 5, 1945 in Miami and she preceded him in death in 1975. Clarence had been a micro biologist at the Atomic Energy Commission in Grand Junction, Colorado and later became the Director of Environmental Health in Pueblo, Colorado until his retirement. Clarence enjoyed gardening, visiting with people, reading, following the political issues of the day, traveling and spending time with his family.
Clarence is survived by his daughters, Linda Williams of Hesperia; Lori Hurd of Hesperia; 2 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his sister, Dorothy Temple of Indiana; various nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lena Williams; his son, Leslie W. Williams on September 4, 1969; and 2 sisters.
Memorial services will be held in Birmingham, Alabama and Pueblo, Colorado soon following his wishes for cremation.
