Evans, Clayton D. Clayton D. Evans, age 60 of Fremont, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2007 from injuries received in an auto accident. Clayton was born on September 9, 1946 in White Cloud and has been a lifelong resident of the Newaygo County area. Clayton had been a production worker at Briggs Lumber Company and was a veteran of the Vietnam Era where he served in the United States Air Force. He was a Life Member of the Croton American Legion; member of the Newaygo V.F.W, Sportsmans Post; White Cloud Eagles, Fremont Moose Lodge #1555. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia M. Evans of Midwest City, Oklahoma; special friend LaVonne of Fremont. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred L. Patrick and by his adopted parents, Harry and Phyllis Evans. Funeral services were held on Friday, January 12, 2007 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Mr. Bill Tice presiding and military rites given by the Croton American Legion, Walter Howarth Post #381 with interment in the White Cloud Cemetery.
