Clayton G. Fox, age 94, of Fremont passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at Spectrum Health Services in Grand Rapids. Clayton was born on October 14, 1917, in Fremont to Edward and Bessie (Graham) Fox and married Isabelle Newell on March 28, 1942, in Fremont. Clayton served his country in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Clayton attended Ferris State University in the printing program and worked at Fremont Printing and then at Gerber Products as a Printer. Clayton was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada. He was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church. Clayton is survived by his children, Barbara Corbusier of Minnetonka, Minnesota, Steven (Suzy) Fox of West Gilgo Beach, New York, Randy (Lynn) Fox of Chelsea, David (Becky Pierce) Fox of East Lansing, and Bruce (Deb Lanni) Fox of Stockton, New York; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jennifer Ramsey and daughter Olivia, Scott (Sarah) Corbusier and son Nathan, Jason (Holly) Fox, Melissa Fox, Julia Fox, and Jessica Fox; and special friend Pauline Demmon. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Isabelle; granddaughter, Katie Fox; brother, Ronald Fox; sisters, Elaine Peake and Doris Baatz; and son-in-law, Larry Corbusier. Visitation will held from 5 - 8 PM on Thursday, January 5, 2012, at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont and on Friday, January 6, from 1-2 PM at the Fremont United Methodist Church. A celebration of Claytons life will be held at 2 PM on Friday, January 6, at the Fremont United Methodist Church with Rev. Carolin Spragg officiating. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Fremont United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or Newaygo County Commission On Aging Senior Meals Program.
