Hanke, Clifford Clifford Hanke, age 79 of Twin Lake, passed away Saturday evening, May 27, 2006 at the Hackley Hospital in Muskegon. Clifford was born on January 19, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Walter and Elizabeth (Thorsen) Hanke and later moved to the Twin Lake/Holton area where he has been a longtime resident. He later met and married Marian Burkett on July 23, 1982 in Maple Island and had worked at the Muskegon Piston Ring Company until his retirement in Jan. 1989. Cliff was a life member of the Holton American Legion where he served on the military honor guard for many years. He also enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was a veteran of WW II where he served in the US Navy Seabees. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Marian of Twin Lake; his children, Sue Willcutt of Holton; Cindy (Joe) Cone of Twin Lake; Brian (Lisa) Burkett of Twin Lake; his grandchildren, Mark Lander; Wendy Monroe; Ken Willcutt; Dawn Henderson; Sherri Pierce; Teri Barker; David Tozer; Shelly Burkett; Alishia Burkett; Brandon Burkett; Stacey Burkett; Dirk Burkett; Carly Burkett; his great grandchildren, Andrew, Allysa; Nicole, Jessica; Chase, Nathan, Kyle, Kennedy, Hunter, Shelbie, Austin, Alex; his brother, Robert Hanke of Holton; his sister, Lillian Kelly of Holton; his mother-in-law, Virginia McDonnell of Twin Lake. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Jo Lander and his son, Donald Burkett Jr. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with interment and military rites given at the Oakwood Cemetery in Holton by the Holton American Legion, Cobb, Trygstad Anderson Post #397.
