Clifford E. Walker, age 81 of Hesperia, passed away Monday, November 8, 2010 at the Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont following a short illness. Clifford was born on March 13, 1929 in Walkerville to Eugene and Mina (Hornsby) Walker and later married Jeanette Fairchild on July 26, 1952 in Hart. Cliff has been a resident of Hesperia since 1955 and had served on the Hesperia Village Council. Cliff had worked at Shaw Walker in Muskegon as a paint line coordinator until his retirement in 1989. Cliff served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a charter member of the Hesperia American Legion, Post #411and was also a member of the V.F.W. Cliff enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, refurbishing old cars, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Cliff is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeanette of Hesperia; his children, David (Helen) Walker of Hesperia; Cindy (Jack) Hendon of Fremont; his grandchildren, Rachel (Ryan) DeKuiper; Brandi (Chris) Blanchette; Jill (Dustin) Follett; Caleb Hendon; Nicholas Hendon; Sean Hendon; his great grandchildren, Samantha, Michael and Sydney DeKuiper; Matthew and Isabelle Blanchette; Shelby and Cameron Follett; his sister, Evelyn Holladay of Walkerville; his brother, Charles Walker of Indiana; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 15 brothers and sisters and by many good hunting and fishing buddies. VISITATION : Thursday, November 11, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8pm at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Friday, November 12, 2010 at 2pm at the Crandell Funeral Home with Rev. Kate Meyer of the Newaygo County Chaplaincy Services presiding. INTERMENT and MILITARY RITES : West Hesperia Cemetery under the auspices of the Hesperia American Legion Post #411.
