Clyde E. Morton, age 94 of Fremont, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015 at his home. Clyde was born on May 18, 1921 in Fremont to Herbert and Jessie (Hills) Morton and later married Effie Mae Price on October 12, 1946. Mae preceded him in death on May 13, 2004. Clyde had worked as a machinist at the Gerber Products Company for 42 years until his retirement in 1980. Clyde enjoyed gardening, being in the Michigan Outdoors where he enjoyed deer hunting and particularly fishing. Clyde had served in the United States Navy during World War II where he earned many decorations. Clyde was a life member of the American Legion and was a member of the Holton American Legion, Post #397. Clyde is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Morton; his daughter, Marion Faye Morton in 1956; 3 sisters and 3 brothers. VISITATION : Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel (7193 W 48th Street Fremont MI) from 12-1pm with FUNERAL SERVICES at 1pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. David Dickinson of the Fremont Christian Church presiding. INTERMENT : Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont with MILITARY RITES under the auspices of the United States Navy and Holton American Legion Post #397. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : American Heart Association.
