Obituary

Clyde J. Richards, age 84, of Holton, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2010, at his home. He was born on November 7, 1925, in Muskegon, to Lee and Verna (Vanderboegh) Richards and married Erma Marie Voss in Muskegon on April 25, 1944. Clyde was an electrician at Continental Motors in Muskegon for 35 years, Navy veteran of WWII, and member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Brunswick. He enjoyed camping and fishing and loved to golf with his family. Clyde is survived by his children, Rita (Paul) Evelhoch of Twin Lake, Dawn Batch of Holton, Diana (Leonard) Gaultney of Fruitport, Lisa (Brian) Burkett of Twin Lake, Clyde (Kim) Richards Jr. of Twin Lake, and John Allen Richards of Twin Lake; 16 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; brothers, Warren Richards of Florida, William (Barbara) Richards of Muskegon, and George (Betty) Richards of Muskegon. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Erma in 1989; children, Gail Richards and Michael Clyde Richards; grandchildren Michael Clyde Richards, Sherri Evelhoch, and Paula Gaultney; brothers and sisters, L.D., Susan, Arnold, Gene, and Tet. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 27, 2010, from 5 8 PM at the Crandell Funeral home in Fremont with Rosary starting at 7:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM, on Tuesday at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Brunswick. For a more lasting memorial, friends may consider donations to the American Red Cross.
