Clyde E. Westbrook age 78, of Fremont passed away on Friday, June 25, 2004, at Gerber Memorial Health Services. He was born on July 16, 1925, in Denver Township to Oscar and Ida Beryl (Millard) Westbrook and married Kathleen Betten on July 2, 1948, in Fremont. He was a retired truck driver for Gilliland Transfer Co., member of the Teamsters. He was a Army veteran of WWII, member of the Holton American Legion and 87th Infantry Division Association. Clyde is survived by his loving wife 58 years, Kathleen of Fremont; children, Linda (Clair) Shively of Fremont, Vicki (Jeff) Hamill of Fremont, Greg (Mary Beth) Westbrook of Grand Haven, Barb Tanis of Fremont, Sharon (Larry) Cook of Fremont, and Shelly (Steve) Mitchell of Muskegon; 15 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; special family friend, Judy Pykonen and son Joey; sisters-in-law, Bernadine Boeskool of Fremont, Grace (Morey) Racey of Fremont, Harriet (George) McCann of Fremont, Marsha Barnes of Grand Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters Pearl Sutton, Doris Bolles, and Stella Cook; son-in-law Terry Cook; and grandson Joseph Mitchell. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at the Crandell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Andrea DeWard officiating with interment in Maple Grove Cemetery.
