Cora Sue Crow, age 71 of Hesperia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at her home. Cora was born on July 2, 1942 in Mancelona, Michigan to Samuel F. and Ida L. (Alexander) Moore. Cora married Richard E. Crow Sr. on September 18, 1959 in Muskegon and moved to the Hesperia area in 1985. Cora had been a nurses aide at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility and Meadows Nursing Center until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of the Ferry Wesleyan Church and enjoyed going to yard sales, gardening, ceramics, knitting and crocheting, playing cards. Cora especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Cora is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard E. Crow Sr. of Hesperia; her children, Joan (Dion) McGirr of Vermilion, Ohio; Jean Absher of Lorain, Ohio; Janet (Mark) Stitt of Hesperia; Richard E. (Ginny) Crow Jr. of Vermilion, Ohio; Deborah (Wade) Roesly of Newaygo; 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; her brothers and sister, Charles E. (DeeDee) Moore of Dorr, Michigan; Helen (David) Walker of Hesperia; Sam (Shirley) Moore of Hesperia; several nieces and nephews. Cora was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Crow; her mother, Ida Moore; father, Samuel Moore; step mother, Marjorie Moore; her sister, Julie Moore. Memorial services will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 2pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with a time of visitation from 12:30-2pm at the funeral home. Interment will take place at the West Hesperia Cemetery following cremation. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society in memory of Cora.
