Cora Irene Zitka, age 76 of White Cloud, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021 at Regency at Fremont. Irene was born on August 15, 1945 in Reed City to Charles and Mildred D. (Button) Backstrom and later moved to the Grand Rapids and Luther until settling in White Cloud. Irene had been a cook for many years and was an excellent cook and baker. Irene had been a member of the White Cloud Eagles Auxiliary and had been an active volunteer with Five Cap in Newaygo County. Irene was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and was known for her kind heartedness. She was loved by many in the community. Irene is survived by her son, Richard (Mia Deburns) Zitka of Miami, Arizona; her grandchildren, Elisa Michelle Rene Zitka; David Alan-Joseph Zitka; her great grandson, Joseph Henry Zitka; her brothers and sister, David Backstrom, Allen Backstrom, and Carol Weston. A celebration of life service will be held later in 2022 following cremation. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the White Cloud Eagles in memory of Irene.
