Coty Waters, age 89 of Muskegon , formerly of Fremont , passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at her home in Muskegon . Coty was born on April 27, 1913 near White Cloud to Charles and Laura (Ellis) Swartz and married J. Lafeyette Lafe Waters on February 15, 1947 in Grand Rapids . Lafe preceded her in death on July 23, 2001 . Coty has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area where she had been a farmer with her husband all her life. She was a charter member of the Farm Bureau and charter member of Fremont Grange. and had been a farmer with her husband most of her life. She is survived by her nephew, Paul (Linda) DuBois of Haines City, Florida; her nieces, Vivian Waite of Grand Rapids; Sharee (Bill) Hutchins of Muskegon; Berniece (Neil) Bodman of Muskegon; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, John Brock of Fremont. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lafe; 2 sisters and 1 brother. Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 1, 2003 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. John Moser of the Newaygo County Chaplaincy Services presiding with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery . Friends may consider Hospice of Muskegon Oceana County for memorial contributions.
