Dakota Ray Myers, age 26 of Holton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 1, 2019. Dakota was born on January 29, 1993 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Shelley Myers and Michael Hamel and has been a resident of the Muskegon County area for the past 12 years. Dakota had worked as a machinist at the Great Lakes Cordage Company in Spring Lake. Dakota enjoyed watching all types of sports especially basketball, listening to music and working on cars. Dakota enjoyed spending time with his family and loved his Grandma Shirley's cheesecake and pumpkin bread. Dakota is survived by his fiancé, Stevie Jo Baker of Holton; his children, Marli Ray Myers and Dakota Myers Jr.; his mother, Shelley Myers; his father, Michael Hamel; his brother, Clifford D. Myers Jr.; his maternal grandmother, Janet Stevens; his god mother, Lynette Parson and special friend, Tony Viesel Hanes.
