Boyd, Dale Owen Dale Owen Boyd, age 76 of Fremont, passed away Monday, January 3, 2005 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont. Dale was born on July 7, 1928 in Butler, Indiana to Owen and Electa (Quantence) Boyd and married his first wife, Norene on June 24, 1953 in Waterloo, Indiana. Noreen passed away on May 28, 1962. He later married Doris Hill on May 3, 1963 in Newaygo and she preceded him in death on February 4, 1993. Dale had been a truck driver at Grabill Trucking Company for many years until his retirement in 1991. He had been an active member of the Fremont Moose Lodge #1555, was a member of the Fremont VFW, Laurels Post #6898, Holton American Legion, Cobb Anderson Trygstad Post #397 and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Dale enjoyed bowling, golfing and volunteered many hours at the Fremont Moose Lodge #1555. Dale is survived by his daughter, Sandy Haviland of Fremont; his son, Danny L. Romager of Greenville; 4 grandchildren, Stephen (Aurea) Romager; Kristina Haviland; Trisha Romager; Heather (Andrew) Hoffman; 7 great grandchildren, Brittany, Storme, Robbin, Riley, Raina, Brianna, Andrew; his brother, Howard Brooks of Reno, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Rathburn and brother, Richard Boyd. Moose Memorial services were held on Friday, January 07, 2005 at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel under the auspices of Fremont Moose Lodge #1555. Funeral memorial services were held on Saturday, January 8, 2005 at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Funeral Celebrant Curt A. Crandell presiding with military rites given by the Newaygo VFW. Interment was in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may send condolences or share a memory with the family at www.crandellfh.com.
