Dale W. Burkle, age 77 of Fremont, passed away following a courageous battle with cancer. Dale was born on September 19, 1939 in Dayton Township to John P. and Florence (Skuse) Burkle and later married Mary Smith on December 6, 1958 in Fremont. Mary preceded him in death on April 18, 2016. Dale joined the United States Air Force and after his discharge, returned to Fremont. Dale started work as a mechanic and later worked in sales and management for N & K, A&C Carriers, Leaseway, and Weller Truck Parts until his retirement in 2005. Dale enjoyed spending time at the Burkle property in Irons, camping and mushroom hunting. Dale was an avid motorcyclist and truly enjoyed riding in the Smokey Mountains. Dale enjoyed all types of racing including motorcycle, snowmobiling, and car racing. Dale especially treasured the time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dale is survived by his children, David (Lisa) Burkle of Coopersville; Amy (Bill) Dykehouse of Spring Lake; his grandchildren, Jason (Elisabeth) Burkle; Jessica Burkle; Sara (John) Royer; Katie (Drew) Anson; his great grandchildren, Sophia, Emma, Wyatt, Mason, Jack, and Emma; several nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his brothers and sister, John, Norma, and Robert.

MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Hospice of North Ottawa Community for Heartwood Lodge Hospice Residence or Bellwether Harbor in Fremont.
