Dale "Sonny" C. Clark, age 94 of Hesperia, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 30. 2022 at his home. Dale was born on September 14, 1927 in Leavitt Township to Clifford and Clara (Fairchild) Clark and later met and married Mary Lee Houghton on March 12, 1949 in Hesperia. Mary preceded Dale in death on October 8, 2021. Dale has been a lifelong resident of the Hesperia area where he had worked as a Millwright at Continental Motors for a total of 40 years. During his working days though, Dale also had worked at the Hesperia Lumber Company, Hesperia Feed Mill, Gerber Products and CWC. Dale also had built over 8 homes during his lifetime and remodeled several others. Dale was never one to sit idle and enjoyed building houses, fishing, always had a big vegetable garden and would give away a lot of the produce he grew. Dale enjoyed talking and visiting with everyone and picked up the nickname "Sonny" because he always had a smile on his face. Dale is survived by his children, Michael (Bernice) Clark of Hesperia; John (Linda) Clark of Hesperia; Denise (Greg) Eitniear of Hesperia; 8 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; his sisters, Mona Bush of Hesperia; Beverly Curtice of Ludington; several nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Mary L. Clark on October 8, 2022; by his brothers and sisters, Larry Clark, Ivan Clark, Mort Clark, Annabelle Findley; Marlene Harrold, and Donna Smith.
