Dale E. McCastle, age 75 of Fremont, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Dale was born on December 9, 1945 in Muskegon to George and Gertie Irene (Monroe) McCastle Jr. and graduated from Fremont High School in 1964. Dale met and married the love of his life, Mikalee Anne Parks on July 9, 1966 in Muskegon and Mikalee preceded him in death on January 1, 2011. Dale later married Rose Grant in 2016. Dale was a very hard worker in all that he did in life. Dale had been a machine operator for C&O Railroad and CSX Railroad from 1972 until 2001 when he retired from the railroad industry. Dale then began his second career and owned and operated McCastle Sawmill for many years until his final retirement. Dale loved working with wood, sawing lumber, hunting and traveling.
Dale is survived by his children, Kristin (T. Gary) Benson of Reeds Spring, Missouri; Kelly (Shawn) Walker of Newaygo; Carla (Randy) Jackson) of Chesteron, Indiana; loving Papa to Ashley, Samantha, Christopher, Darion, Maddison, Jakob, Kyle, RJ, Josh, Andrea, Jake, Jericho, Morgan; as well as 9 great grandchildren; his wife, Rose McCastle of Fremont; his brothers and sisters, George McCastle; Alvin McCastle; Marlene McCastle; Joyce (Wayne) Kinstner; Wayne (Darlene) McCastle; several nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Mikalee; his son, Keven McCastle on December 25, 2009; sisters and brothers, Harold McCastle, Betty Tucker, Harry McCastle, Alice Teegarden, Glen McCastle.
Celebration of Life - Monday, December 27, 2021 from 2:30-3:30, service at 3:30 with dinner to follow. The Shack, 2263 West 14th Street, White Cloud - Jugville USA.
