Dale Robert Patrick, age 62 of Big Rapids (Woodville) passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at his home. Dale was born on June 14, 1959 in Fremont to Larry and Joyce (Wells) Patrick and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1977. Dale met and later married Diane Gilbert on August 19, 1978 at Woodville Christian Reformed Church. Dale had been a truck driver for many years, owned his own contracting company and had recently worked for Barber Creek Sand and Gravel Inc. where he had been a heavy equipment operator. Dale enjoyed hunting, grilling, watching Nascar, camping, snowmobiling and spending time with his grandchildren and putting as many lights on his truck as legally possible. Dale was a man of few words, but you could always get "yep" from him during any conversation. Dale is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diane of Big Rapids; his daughters, Dawn Patrick of Charlotte, North Carolina; Kristi (Quentin) King of Tustin, Michigan; his grandchildren, Aidyn Patrick, Kamdyn Patrick, Kayden King, and Kiera Jones; his parents, Larry and Joyce Patrick of Big Rapids; his brother and sisters, David (Suzanne) Patrick of Big Rapids; Marilou (David) Clary of Jackson, Michigan; Lynda (David) Thorp of Luther, Michigan; his mother-in-law, Annette Gilbert of White Cloud; sisters-in-laws, Donna Nichols of Newaygo; Debra (Don) Tanis of Fremont; step brothers-in-laws, Donald (Maranda) Lee; Travis Lee; Danielle Lee; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dale was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Russell Gilbert; brother-in-law, James Nichols; grandparents, John and Jennie Wells and John and Myrtle Patrick. VISITATION : Monday, January 17, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Crandell Funeral Home – White Cloud Chapel.
