Dannie J. Walton, age 45 of Hesperia, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2020 at the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. Dannie was born on August 29, 1974 in Shelby to Melton and Marlinda (Croff) Walton and graduated from Hesperia High School in 1992. Dannie has been a lifelong resident of the Hesperia area and had worked at Pentwater Wire, Dura and had most recently worked as a Certified Nurses Aid at Cedar Creek Assisted Living Center in Holton. Dannie was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching all sports and collecting sports memorabilia including cards. He liked listening to music, country car rides and spending time with his family on picnics and gatherings and loved his dog, Kokomo. Dannie is survived by his sons, Tyler Walton of Hesperia; Peyton Walton of Hesperia; his mother and step father, Marlinda "Linda" (Kenton) Way of Hesperia; his brother, Garry (Kathy) Walton of Hart; step brother, Steven (Kayla) Walton of Hart; step sister, Laura Walton of Grant; nieces and nephews, Ashley, Robin, Julie, Troy Jr., Arianna, Eli, Melanie, Junior, Aiden, Alejandra and Michael; paternal grandmother, Bertha Walton of Fremont; his uncles, Marvin (Sarah) Croff of Twin Lake; Myron (Sally) Rought of Ludington; many uncles, aunts, and cousins. Dannie was preceded in death by his father, Melton Walton in 2020; his brother, Troy Walton Sr. in 2015; his paternal grandfather, William Walton. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the West Michigan Masonic Center 2661 N Oceana Drive Hart, Michigan 49420 with a luncheon to follow.
