Darrell Edward Carson, 70, of Hesperia, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.  Darrell was born in Fremont, Michigan on January 25, 1954.  He is proceeded in death by his parents Marvin and Delores Carson.  He is survived by his son Darrel and daughter Christine and family. Darrell is survived by his brothers and sisters:   Randy (friend Sue) Carson, Thomas (Shirley) Carson, Raymond (Joyce) Carson, Della (Mike) Champ, and Debra Carson.  He is also survived by nieces and nephews:  Eric (Brittany) Carson, Ryan (Hannah) Carson, Dennis (Joanna) Jager, Jeff (Samantha) Jager, Stephanie (Nickolaus) LaFlash, Audrey (Josh) Church, Jennifer Carson, Marissa Carson, Matthew Champ, Katie (Ben) Champ, and Robert Champ. Darrel is survived by many great nieces and great nephews, as well as aunts and uncles.

Darrell resided in Fremont until his family moved to their farm in Hesperia in 1962. He received his high school diploma from Hesperia High School in 1972. He then received a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from Ferris State University.  He worked at Gerber Products and Speas.  Darrell enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and walking.  He enjoyed being with family members.   He had a great time at family reunions in Indiana and Michigan.  He enjoyed visiting family and attending strawberry festivals  in Florida.  He was a member of the National Rifle Association.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, Newaygo County Compassion Home in Fremont or the Fremont Area Community Foundation.

Family and friends are invited to say their final goodbyes during a visitation on Tuesday, November 26th, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Crandell Funeral Homes Inc in Fremont, MI. A funeral service officiated by Justin Blackwood will follow immediately after at 2:00 pm at the same location. Darrell will be laid to rest at the East Hesperia Cemetery in Hesperia, MI.
