Darrell K. Proctor, age 85 of Fremont, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont. Darrell was born on July 6, 1931 in Fremont to Kenneth and Marietta Iola (Carr) Proctor and has been a lifelong resident of the area. Darrell graduated from Fremont High School in 1949 and married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Ann Conklin on March 5, 1949. Darrell had been an iron worker with the Local 340 Ironworkers Union until his retirement and then became the janitor at the Fremont United Methodist Church for 25 years until his final retirement. Darrell had been active in coaching little league baseball, camping, beekeeping, motorcycle riding and had served in the Michigan National Guard during the post Korean era. Darrell had also been active in all aspects of the Fremont United Methodist Church-teaching Sunday school, youth leader and had served on various boards.

Darrell is survived by his wife of 68 years, Pat of Fremont; his children, Monty (Lori) Proctor of Fremont; Leon (Carla) Proctor of Fremont; Warren Proctor of Holton; Darlene Locke of Grand Rapids; Kari (Dale) Kee of Bath, New York; Holly (Kevin) Hobbs of Fremont; 27 grandchildren; numerous great and great great grandchildren; his brother, Laverne (Bonnie) Proctor of Holton. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Richard Proctor on November 18, 1972 and his sister, Rowene Dow.

VISITATION : Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 1-3 at the Fremont United Methodist Church (351 Butterfield Fremont MI 49412) MEMORIAL SERVICES : Wednesday, April 5 2017 at 3pm at the Fremont United Methodist Church. INTERMENT : Maple Grove Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Community House via Fremont United Methodist Church.
