Tamie and Gene Sevigny Posted 7/24/2007 Dear DeWitt Family, It's been years and years since I've seen Darryl, but I wanted to send my and Tammi's condolences to all of you. Darryl and I graduated together, but better than that started out together at Park Elementary in Dover in grade school. We were saddened to read about the passing of Darryl. I recently read an article in the newspaper about his father and wondered how Darryl was doing. One of the best memories I have of Darryl was when he and I drew a map of the United States which included drawing each individual state as well. We used a roll of newspaper print which was lying around our house. This was a huge map - not a small task for either of us to take on as 5th or 6th graders. We took it to school and of course got accolades from our teacher for doing it. Although Tammi and I too moved away from Dover now too, my memories of Dover and all those who we spent time with will go on forever. May God be with all of you during this tough time.............. Robert & Tammi Everett Mesquite, Nevada Posted 7/24/2007 Linda, I want you to know what a wonderful man Darryl was. He was one of the few friends of my dad's that I truly enjoyed being around. I'll never forget the first time I met him. Darryl, being the man he was, could always make me laugh. I'm so glad I stopped by my parent's house when I did that day you two were out riding the bike. (I know I told Darryl it was a" girlie purple" but, I really did like the color. I just didn't want him to know that!!) And I'll never forget after I had Zach and you guys came to visit. In walked Darryl with this jumbo package of diapers. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Well, now Darryl can have all the ice-cream he wants now, for free! (You know what I'm talking about) Just know that you're in our thoughts and prayers. Darryl will be missed by all of us. Love always, Jessica Posted 7/26/2007 To the DeWitt family: I am a childhood friend of Hannelore's and knew Darryl because he was so close to our age. My prayers and sympathies are with you all during this time. May God bring you comfort and peace. Shelley Littlefield Craine Posted 7/26/2007 Linda We are sorry to hear about the death of your husband. Although we never got to meet him, all the good things you told us about him will be good memories. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. Dick and Connie Zinser Posted 8/8/2007 Linda and family I am so sorry for your loss. So young! Knowing you as I do, I am sure you have many fun and wonderful memories. If there is anything I can do, just call. Dennis & Barb Hoffman Posted 8/8/2007 To the DeWitt Family, My association with Darryl was through his work at the school, although ours was a "business" relationship I have always considered Darryl to be much, much more than just an acquaintance. Over the five years that I have known Darryl (every Tuesday during the school year) I cannot count on one hand the times when he wasn't "grinning" about one thing or another. My life has been enriched by his friendship and I am so glad to have had a chance to know this man. Please accept my deepest condolences and I will keep all of you in my prayers. Mark Roddy Posted 8/8/2007 DeWitt Family, Please know it took me a few minutes to recover when I heard of Darryl's passing just yesterday (8/7). My first thought was that he was a good guy and and upstanding man. I knew him through my work with the 2 way radios on the White Cloud buses the last 7 years and seeing him every Tuesday when I ran the Newaygo service route was the highlight of the day. He always had a smile and good things to say. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with your family. Walt Love Posted 8/9/2007
