Christensen, David R. David R. Christensen, age 55 of Newaygo and his father, Dean R. Christensen passed away Sunday, June 12, 2005 in Ontario, Canada following injuries received in an automobile accident while on their annual fishing trip. David was born on Sept. 20, 1949 in Greenville to Dean R. and Betty (Parsons) Christensen and married Vicki Jacobsen on May 22, 1981 in Grand Rapids. David has been a lifelong resident of Newaygo where he graduated from Newaygo High School in 1967. He had been a polisher at Michigan Wheel until his retirement in 1988 and currently owned and operated River Valley Storage in Newaygo with his wife, Vicki. He enjoyed Hot Rod cars, fishing, hunting, traveling, spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Vicki of Newaygo; his children, David Jon DJ (Yvonne) Christensen of Newaygo; Dean (Amy) Christensen of Manistee; Stacey Christensen of Newaygo; his grandchildren, Emily & Daniel; Sawyer and Kaelee; his mother, Betty of Newaygo; his sisters, Debbie (Gary) Rank of Cadillac; Diane (Glen) Hasted of Newaygo; his mother and father-in-law, Neil & Phyllis Jacobsen of Jenison; sister-in-law, Sherrill Nagel of Grandville; several nieces and nephews. VISITATION : Thursday 2-4 & 6-8pm at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. (road is open to parking lot thru construction) FUNERAL SERVICES : Friday at 3pm at the Resurrection Life Church in Newaygo. INTERMENT : Oak Grove Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : David R. Christensen Scholarship Fund at the Independent Bank of Newaygo. Funeral services were held for both David and his father, Dean on Friday, June 18, 2005 from the Resurrection Life Church in Newaygo with Pastor Mark Slagh presiding with interment in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Croton Township.
